INTERMEDIATE RULES TO REMEMBER
- Students should not report to school before 8:20 AM and 12:20 PM.
- Students should not enter the building before 8:35 AM and 12:45 PM--first bell.
- Anyone who enters the building late will need to get a tardy slip from the office. The tardy is condsidered to be an Unexcused Tardy until an excuse is brought from home. At that time, it will be changed to an Excused Tardy.
- Upon their return to school after an absence, children need to bring a written excuse. (If an absence is not due to illness, funeral attendance, or a religious holiday, a pre-approval absence form will be needed.)
- Students who need to use cough drops during the school day may do so with written permission.
- After all levels have been dismissed, through the Moffett Street doors, all children should be clear of the building unless they have After-School Sports or an appointment with a teacher.
- Children should wear appropriate footwear, especially on gym days. Flip flops and Crocs are dangerous on the gym floor.
- Chewing gum is not permitted on school property.
- Students are not permitted to bring sports equipment from home for use on the playground.
- Bicycles, scooters, skates, and rollerblades are discouraged at Jefferson. Skateboards are not permitted on school property at any time.
- If a student is invited to eat lunch at another student's home or a restaurant, a written note from both parents to the homeroom teacher would be very much appreciated. This helps us to know where the children are at all times in case of emergency.
- Cell phones and iPods are for use outside of the building only. They are not to be used in classrooms or hallways.
