ART CURRICULUM
Mt. Lebanon’s Art Curriculum complies with the Pennsylvania Standards for Arts and Humanities. These include:
9.1 Art Production
9.2 Art History
9.3 Art Criticism
9.4 Art Aesthetic
Students will experience a variety of methods each year, including drawing, painting, printmaking,
sculpture, ceramics and fiber arts. By the end of 5th grade,
students will be familiar with the works and lives of numberous famous artists.
ART SCHEDULE
Every class receives 45 minutes of Art, one time each week. Here is the schedule:
Monday: Mr. Cadman's 5th, Mrs. DiGiorno's 2nd, Ms. Kaylor's 5th
Tuesday: Mrs. Ryan's 2nd, Ms. Adair's 3rd, Mrs. Kimball's 1st
Wednesday: Ms. Galardini's 2nd, Mrs. Luxbacher's 3rd, Mrs. Hughes 4th
Thursday: Mr. Kukic's 1st, Ms. Sulkowski's 1st
Friday: Ms. Kaylor's 5th, Ms. Charrie's 4th, Mrs. Raitano's 2nd, Mrs. Beebe's 1st, Mrs. Martin's 4th
ART STUDIO WISH LIST
All of these items are wanted in the Art room. If you have any, please send them in:
Large plastic jugs
(similar to the kind from Sam’s Club that hold pretzels)
Bubble Wrap
A toaster oven
Old ladders
Old coat racks
Building blocks- colored or wooden
ART SHIRTS
Please send your young artist to school with an Art shirt.
Shorter sleeve ones are best- they can roll-up their longer sleeves underneath.
(Long sleeves on Art shirts tend to drag through paint.)
